Catherine Apthorpe
Commercial Manager & Company Secretary
Miss Apthorpe joined the Group on 1 July 2009, having previously worked as an adviser to the Group since 2005 in her capacity as senior solicitor at Maclay Murray & Spens, LLP. Her role at Cluff Gold incorporates in-house legal counsel, all general commercial matters and company secretarial matters. She is based in the London office and travels to West Africa regularly.
Peter Brown
Group Exploration Manager
Mr. Brown joined the Company in August 2011. Previously, he was the Chief Geologist at NunaMinerals and served as a Member of Executive Board. Mr. Brown has more than 25 years’ experience in minerals exploration and evaluation from Africa, South America, the Middle East and China. His experience is primarily exploration and evaluation for precious and basic metals in Archean and proterozoic areas. He holds a BSc in geology from Dundee University (1972) and a PhD from Southampton University (1988). Mr Brown is based in West Africa.
Alusine Jalloh
Country Manager, Sierra Leone
Mr Jalloh joined the Company in August 2010. Prior to joining Cluff Gold, Mr Jalloh was with Sierra Rutile Mining Company (“Sierra Rutile”) for a total of 20 years, most recently as the Corporate and Public Liaison Manager from 2008 to 2010. Mr Jalloh was the main company contact for the Government and the public relations, and played a key part in negotiating the company’s agreements with the Government. Mr Jalloh also previously served as the Sierra Leone Minister of Labour, Energy and Power Supply in 1996, as well as the Deputy General Manager of West African Holdings, providing logistics support services to the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone, before joining the United Nations in 2001. Mr Jalloh took on Head of Office roles in two United Nations missions in Afghanistan before rejoining Sierra Rutile. He also worked for the United Nations in East Timor. Currently Mr Jalloh is on the boards of the Sierra Leone Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (SL EITI), Sierra Leone Chamber of Mines (formative), Business Coalition Against AIDS. Mr Jalloh is based in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Carrie Lun
Investor Relations Manager
Miss Lun joined the Company in August 2010. She previously worked in Metals & Mining Investment Banking at BMO Capital Markets both in Toronto, Canada and London, UK, advising mining companies with equity financing and mergers and acquisitions. Miss Lun qualified as a barrister/solicitor in Canada and is based in London, UK.
